one factory, one crew, no middleman

Measure. Fabricate. Install.

Three trades, one roof, one phone number. Most quotes pass through three different companies — ours never leaves the building.

  1. We measure

Free in-home template. Laser-precise, coffee optional, no obligation — worst case you get a professional measurement and a laugh.

  2. Our factory cuts

Your slab goes through our shop, not a subcontractor’s. The missing piece of your kitchen literally sits in our factory until you claim it.

  3. Our crew installs

The same company that measured and cut shows up and installs. One neck to hug when it’s gorgeous.

the part that saves you a week

Nobody here can blame the other guy.

Template, fabricate, install — one crew, one phone number, before and after the job.

The usual countertop project has a showroom that sold it, a fabricator that cut it, and an install crew nobody has met. When a measurement is off, all three are technically right and none of them is coming back on Tuesday.

We measure your kitchen, cut and polish the slab in our own Elk Grove Village shop, and set it with the same crew that took the measurements. The person at the saw already stood in your kitchen — so we can tell you where your seams will fall on the day we measure, not on the day you find out.

asked at almost every kitchen table

The questions you were going to ask anyway.

Answered here so you do not have to sit through a pitch to get them.

How long does replacing just my countertops take?

From first showroom visit to a working sink, plan on two to six weeks; fabricator-published timelines cluster at three to six. The visible disruption is small: the template appointment takes one to two hours, the shop needs one to three weeks to cut and polish the stone, install day runs four to six hours, and the sink is back in service once adhesives cure, roughly 24 to 48 hours later. Nearly all the elapsed time is shop fabrication, not workers in your kitchen — you lose full use of the sink for only a day or two.

How long will I actually be without a kitchen during a countertop replacement?

Far less than most people fear: the kitchen works normally through selection, template, and the one-to-three-week fabrication wait. The real outage is install day itself - roughly four to eight hours plus an hour or two of tear-out - and then about 24 hours before the sink silicone cures for heavy use. Plan one dinner out and one day of paper plates, not weeks of takeout.

How do I compare countertop or remodel quotes that are structured completely differently?

Force every bid onto the same skeleton before comparing totals: material (brand, color, thickness, grade), fabrication and installation, template fee, cutouts priced per opening, edge profile, tear-out and disposal, plumbing disconnect/reconnect, and permits. In the Midwest it is common for one fabricator to quote a flat tear-out fee ($300-$450) while another bills $10-$20 per square foot, or for a remodeler to bury permit costs a competitor lists separately. A bid missing line items is not cheaper — it is just less finished.

How big a deposit is normal for a kitchen remodel?

The Illinois Attorney General suggests keeping deposits reasonable - commonly no more than about one third of the contract price - and never paying in full before work begins. A deposit that covers custom orders like cabinets or a fabricated countertop is legitimate; demands for most of the money up front are not. Structure the rest as progress payments tied to completed milestones rather than calendar dates, and keep a meaningful final payment for after the punch list is finished.

Are recycled-glass countertops as durable as regular quartz?

Resin-bound recycled-glass surfaces behave much like engineered quartz: non-porous, stain-resistant, and never in need of sealing. Cement-bound versions are closer to polished concrete — they want periodic sealing and their edges can chip under impact. Neither type tolerates hot pans directly. The bigger practical issue in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana is availability: fewer fabricators stock recycled glass, so compare warranties and local service before committing, and note that recycled-content quartz lines from major brands can deliver similar green credentials with easier sourcing.

Can I put a hot pan on a quartz countertop?

No — and this is the single most common regret reported by quartz owners. The stone content is heat-tolerant but the resin binder is not: Caesarstone’s own guidance says the resin withstands only about 150C/300F, that cookware straight from the oven "will burn the countertop," and that even moderately hot pots left sitting can discolor the surface. The resulting brown or yellow scorch ring is a resin burn that professionals can sometimes — not always — polish out, and virtually every manufacturer (Caesarstone, Cambria, Silestone) excludes heat damage from warranty. Keep trivets within arm’s reach of the range; the habit matters more than the material.

What happens if you fill in the form below.

The whole sequence, so nobody has to wonder what they are agreeing to.

  1. We call or text you back

Usually the same day. We ask what you have got and roughly when you want it done. Nobody is going to sell you anything on that call — we cannot price a kitchen we have not seen.

  2. We come out and template

Free, in your kitchen, with a tape measure and a laser. We measure the actual cabinets, look at the walls, and talk through material, edge and where the seams would land.

  3. You get a number

Total installed, on one page, with the stone named and the edge named. No deposit was required to get it, and it is yours whether or not you use us.

  4. You decide

If it is a yes, we order the slab and book the install. If it is a no, that is a completely normal outcome and we would still rather you had the number.
